Job Title: Technical Product Owner

Roles and Responsibilities:

Business and Technical Execution: Develop a deep understanding of customer experience, particularly at tactical and transactional levels, to inform product decisions and enhancements. Continuously engage with end-users to gather feedback and assess their needs. Utilize insights to improve product offerings and ensure alignment with business objectives. Translate customer insights into actionable development items for the team to implement.Agile Backlog Management: Build and maintain the Agile (Scrum/Sprint) Team backlog with input from various team members to prioritize and reflect customer needs and business goals. Ensure backlog items are clearly defined and understood by all team members. Collaborate with Product Owners across projects to maintain alignment on priorities and goals. Regularly review the backlog to ensure it reflects current project needs and market demands.User Story Development: Collaborate with Agile teams and stakeholders to write clear user stories and requirements, complete with acceptance criteria and acceptance tests, for one or two Agile Teams. Engage in regular refinement sessions to ensure stories are ready for implementation. Act as the primary point of contact for clarifications regarding user stories throughout the development cycle. Facilitate discussions to prioritize user stories based on urgency and strategic importance.Backlog Prioritization: Review and prioritize the Agile Team backlog for Iteration Planning, coordinating dependencies with other Product Owners to ensure alignment and execution efficiency. Analyze the impact of business priorities and market changes on the backlog. Proactively communicate changes in priorities to maintain transparency within the team. Continuously monitor team velocity and adjust backlog priorities to optimize productivity.Technical Collaboration: Assess enabler work with System and Solution Architects/Engineering, assisting in decision-making and sequencing of technical infrastructures, and serve as the primary resource for the Technical (Dev) team and Customer team regarding user story details. Coordinate with technical teams to understand constraints and capabilities that may impact execution. Foster a strong partnership with technical resources to ensure successful project outcomes. Remain available to the technical team during iterations to address real-time questions and clarifications.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Administration, or a related field; PMP or Agile certification is a plus. Relevant industry experience in product management and ownership will be considered an asset. Familiarity with Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello) is preferred. Demonstrated understanding of software development principles and best practices will enhance your candidacy.Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role within Agile environments, demonstrating a strong understanding of the product lifecycle and Agile methodologies. Previous involvement in building and maintaining product backlogs in a fast-paced environment is essential. Familiarity with various Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) will be beneficial. Ability to pivot quickly based on evolving project requirements is crucial for success in this role.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to develop and prioritize user stories and requirements based on customer and market feedback. Experience conducting user research and translating findings into actionable items is required. Proficiency in measuring and reporting on key product metrics to stakeholders will be advantageous. Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail will enhance your effectiveness as a Product Owner.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical teams, including stakeholders at all levels. Ability to build relationship bridges between teams, fostering a collaborative environment for successful project delivery. Proven skills in facilitation and negotiation to align differing viewpoints among stakeholders will be beneficial. Confidence in presenting concepts and updates to various audiences is essential for this role.Experience in working with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and driving improvement initiatives that enhance velocity and product quality. Proven track record of identifying process improvements and implementing effective solutions will set you apart. Ability to lead through influence and encourage collaboration across teams is a must. A proactive approach to enhancing overall team performance is essential for long-term success.

The base salary range for this position is $ 92,250 - $ 144,964 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies. Benefits available to eligible employees in this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, comprehensive employee assistance program, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off and holidays.
