**Role Description**
The Network Engineering team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. As a member of the team, you have a direct impact on design and feature enhancements to keep our systems running smoothly. You also ensure that network operations are safe and efficient by monitoring network performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware components and responding to network connectivity issues. GFiber's complex network generates a constant stream of challenges which require you to continually be innovative with an evolving set of technologies.
**In this role, you'll:**
+ Manage the engineering and design practices for GFiber’s Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network, encompassing Single Family Units (SFUs), Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs), and Single Business Units (SBUs), including permitting, network relocations, and quality control.
+ Coordinate with the Outside Plant (OSP) network team on project engineering activities, progress and financial reporting, invoice review, and change management.
+ Oversee vendor production to ensure adherence to established guidelines and standards.
+ Facilitate cross-functional collaboration for seamless network design execution, support network planning activities, and coordinate dark fiber leases.
**At a minimum we'd like you to have:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 5 years of experience managing large, complex outside plant (OSP) projects, with a strong emphasis on fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) or OSP engineering.
+ Robust knowledge of fiber optic network infrastructure (inside and outside plant), including engineering design, construction, and experience with municipal right-of-way and construction permitting.
+ Proficiency in Make Ready Engineering practices (NESC, NEC, or GO-95) and experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), ESRI, and geo-database functionality.
**It's preferred if you have:**
+ 10 years of experience in managing large, highly-complex, outside plant projects, FTTH or outside plant engineering projects.
+ 5 years of experience managing and leading teams of more than 5 people.
+ Contract or vendor management experience, including defining scope of work and quality control.
+ Familiarity with aerial, underground construction methods and familiarity with outside plant equipment and materials.
+ Capital budget management experience.
+ Knowledge of analyzing fiber test results and auditing projects for compliance with scopes of work.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $130,000 - $143,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
