With the Google Fiber team, you’ll work on cross-product and cross-team initiatives, working closely with cross-functional team members to refine and evolve our projects, as well as deploy new technologies to markets and communities around the globe. You like being on-the-ground, executing complex projects that bring internet access to people.
**Role Description**
As a Technical Operations Manager, you will ensure that network operations are reliable and efficient by monitoring network performance, performing planned maintenance, proactively identifying and repairing network difficulties, and responding to network connectivity issues. You will work to improve customer experience through vendor and production management and will lead testing, acceptance, last mile, and installation operations to bring Google Fiber to customers as quickly as possible. Additionally, you will perform critical tasks that maintain and improve network operations and will take the technical lead in ensuring a reliable and efficient operating network.
**In this role, you'll:**
+ Drive product quality and customer experience improvements. Use field data to drive quality improvements through cross-functional quality improvement forum.
+ Support financial planning processes such as business forecasting, target setting, and CapEx/OpEx budget. Manage operations schedule, budgets, actual costs, and performance.
+ Monitor network performance and lead troubleshooting efforts for network systems. Prepare and implement MOPs and update network documentation based on changes in network topology.
+ Manage vendor performance for both inside and outside plant responsibilities.
+ Provide local insight to centralized process management teams to jointly drive refinement and innovation. Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives to improve customer experience and overall cost structure of the business.
+ Manage frontline Plant Maintenance Technicians within the market.
+ Be available for emergency on-call outage responsibilities.
**At a minimum we'd like you to have:**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
+ 7 years of experience in network operations, network engineering, or network construction.
+ 5 years of experience building and maintaining telecommunication infrastructure, FTTH/X, network operations, and/or outside plant (OSP) projects.
+ Experience managing projects involving team members from multiple disciplines
+ Experience managing third-party vendor contractor performance and deliverables.
+ Experience with construction quality processes for predictive, proactive, and reactive quality management.
+ Experience in network outage response and remediation.
**It's preferred if you have:**
+ PMP Certification.
+ 10 years of experience in network operations, network engineering, or network construction.
+ Ability to keep multiple critical stakeholders informed and comfortable interact with external partners and internal groups.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $130,000 - $143,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
