Technical Operations Manager, MxU Deployment

This opportunity will remain online based on business needs which may be before or after the specified date._ **Role Description** GFiber projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a MxU Deployment Manager at GFiber, you lead complex, multidisciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal vendors, customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. The MxU Deployment Manager will work on cross-product and cross-team initiatives, working closely with cross-functional team members to refine and enhance our projects, and deploy new technologies to markets and communities around the globe. You like being on-the-ground, executing complex projects that bring internet access to people. **In this role, you'll:** + Manage production, quality, and cost of outside plant construction and structured cabling installations to support the delivery of install-ready MxU units against monthly, quarterly, and annual targets. + Manage project budgets, scheduling, planning and contractor resource assignment and track contractor performance including billing against budget and contract. Manage proposals, SOW’s, bids, scope definition, engineering design cycles and design review/ approvals. + Develop and manage program management functions within the metro to include aspects of project initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. + Operate across myriad internal Google Fiber groups and external organizations to ready and implement operational processes. Execute multiple projects/programs/planning in support of regional long-term processes, and lead efforts for efficiency throughout deployment operations in the market. + Work with and communicate progress to internal stakeholders and ensure that projects are scoped properly and handed off seamlessly for network deployment. Support team with analysis and analytics to drive improvements and decision making. **At a minimum we'd like you to have:** + Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Telecommunications, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. + 5 years of experience in vendor management and managing contractors. + 5 years of experience in quality assurance, managing schedules, troubleshooting and the ability to innovate our means, and methods with potential to change industry standards. + Experience in successfully developing and managing contracts, invoicing, scheduling projects, cost engineering, budgeting, forecasting costs, project reporting (costs, status and risks), procurement and in negotiating with contractors and vendors. **It's preferred if you have:** + 5 years of hands-on experience in fiber network deployments and MDU infrastructure, specifically within the Kansas City market, complemented by a deep understanding of inside/outside plant engineering, FTTH design, and construction principles. + Proven ability to work cross-functionally to design, build, and scale processes for construction, installation, and support. + Demonstrates strong oral/written communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills, with a talent for operational improvement and workflow development. + Proficient with GIS and database management tools such as AutoCAD, ESRI, and shape file functionalities. + Knowledgeable in interpreting network drawings, route maps, and scopes of work, as well as analyzing fiber test results and auditing projects for compliance. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000 - $126,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
