**Role Description**
As a Technical Operations Lead for the Metro area, you will ensure that network operations are reliable and efficient by monitoring network performance, performing planned maintenance, proactively identifying and repairing network difficulties, and responding to network connectivity challenges. GFiber’s complex network generates a constant stream of challenges which will require you to continually be innovative with an evolving set of technologies. You and your team will keep the network reliable and ensure that our users stay connected with our suite of applications, products, and services. You will perform critical tasks that maintain and improve network operations, and you will take the technical lead in ensuring a reliable and efficient operating network.
**In this role, you'll:**
+ Manage the planning and execution of complex and sometimes competing tasks that support our ongoing network operations which includes operational activities from budget planning, schedule maintenance, stakeholder management, metric reporting, and national level initiatives.
+ Develop and grow a talented Operations team.
+ Maintain GFiber infrastructure in the market(s) on an ongoing basis, support new acceptance of active network equipment/electronics, and execute new customer installations to support GFiber growth.
+ Implement a repair and maintenance program to fulfill internal service requirements, being available during non-standard business hours as needed; perform new plant testing and acceptance to ensure products meet quality standards and provide the best experience possible.
+ Establish and manage positive vendor relationships through effective facilitations and communication.
**At a minimum we'd like you to have:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Economics, Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 12 years of experience with fiber network management and/or deployments.
+ 12 years of people and vendor management experience.
+ Experience with budgeting, forecasting costs, project reporting, network capacity planning, quality assurance, network equipment turn-up, testing and acceptance.
**It's preferred if you have:**
+ 15 years of experience with fiber network management and/or deployments.
+ 15 years of people and vendor management experience.
+ Experience managing a customer connection program, including the full customer connect lifecycle.
+ Experience with contract and vendor management.
+ Experience supporting network escalations and providing detailed technical leadership for troubleshooting and fault resolution.
+ Experience with network drawings (GIS), interpreting fiber test results, installing and basic configuration of enterprise or carrier grade networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, encoders, optics and DWDM).
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 - $176,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
