The Position

Technical Manager/Leader for a Solution-focused team of Applications, Information Solutions and Engineering Specialists in the Central East of the UK

Are you looking for an exciting challenge in a key support role leading a team of experts across many high-profile customer accounts in which the work you do matters?

This is a leadership role that supports customers in the Central East region of the UK. You will lead a team of Applications, Information Solutions, and Engineering Specialists who provide a Proactive Solution approach to support, covering implementation, technical systems support, analytical reviews, and administrative duties. Other key areas of responsibility for the teams will also be reactive support, troubleshooting and ownership of escalations and preventative maintenance.

You will be accountable for the successful delivery of the relevant service offering and requirements across the region and beyond. You will also be accountable for ensuring that core service activities are performed efficiently and productively, as well as for managing the associated operational costs within the team. 

You will work with peers and key stakeholders to ensure a seamless “sales-service” alignment approach and a differentiated customer-centric experience across the solution. You will ensure that Technical Services has the right people, in the right place, with the right skills, capabilities and competencies.

You should be resilient, tenacious, you strive under pressure, working effectively as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines. With a passion for insights and strong analytical skills, you are at ease working with technical, scientific and numeric information.

For this position, you will ideally be based in the Central East region of the UK (e.g. Scunthorpe, Derby, Northampton, Boston). With this intent in mind, applicants will only be considered if they are either currently residing within this geographical area or are a current Manager/Leader able to demonstrate the desired skills and able to easily access and support the customers and team.

You will be expected to work closely with your team and all other areas of Roche to provide a best-in-class service for our customers. Amongst other duties, this will involve attending customer review meetings to outline key achievements and objectives attained.

Who you are

A degree in a life science subject or equivalent professional experience, you will possess a thorough and up-to-date understanding of the IVD industry and have proven experience in implementing best-in-class laboratory practices. Experience in a line management role or the ability to demonstrate line management skills attained in your career to date would also be a great advantage. With the ability to provide effective support for pathology laboratory solutions, you will be motivated by exceeding customer expectations and instilling knowledge.  

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Leading a team that provides proactive support for implementation, technical systems, analytical reviews, and administration.

Overseeing reactive support, troubleshooting, escalations, routine housekeeping, and preventative maintenance.

Ensuring efficient and productive delivery of services and managing operational costs.

Collaborating with peers and stakeholders to achieve seamless sales-service alignment and a customer-centric experience.

Ensuring the team has the necessary skills and capabilities.

Attending customer review meetings to discuss achievements and objectives.

Ideal candidates will possess:

Proven leadership experience with a desire to further develop business acumen and strategic responsibility.

Resilience, tenacity, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical skills and comfort with technical, scientific, and numeric information.

A degree in a life science subject or equivalent, with a thorough understanding of the IVD industry.

Solid experience in implementing best-in-class laboratory practices.

Experience in a line management role or demonstrable leadership skills.

Motivated to exceed customer expectations and instil knowledge, with the ability to provide effective support for pathology laboratory solutions.

Location:

Applicants must currently reside in this geographical area or be an experienced Manager/Leader able to access and support the customers and team effectively.
