Our location in Alameda, CA, currently has an opportunity for a Technical Manager.

The Technical Manager leads a cross functional team in the development of new products. Works closely with project management as a technical project manager. Finds solutions to complex product development problems. Develop working relationships with cross functional groups, vendors and senior/executive management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Provide technical direction/advisor to project teamsLead/perform product definition, system architecture, product test and evaluation, System V & V, and/or design control documentationLead the development of design processes.Lead, design and conduct system level characterization/verification of complex systems; collect, organize, analyze, and document test resultsResponsible for project planning, managing resources, the creation of project schedules and budgetsLead integration of analytical and performance related elements with software, hardware, and electronics system ComponentsCommunicate effectively and participate on cross functional development teams with good negotiating skills to direct multidisciplinary teams toward solutionsResponsible for utilizing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.Lead a cross-functional engineering teams developing new products or processesMentor Associate Technical Manager and Support Engineers

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science or equivalent.Minimum 7 years Product development experience in Engineering or physical science.Experience in embedded medical device developmentExtensive experience in general engineering/science principals and laboratory skills.Extensive experience of contemporary design control and risk management practices.Strong knowledge of defined development process that is consistent with ISO, FDA design control standards or requirements.Experience managing compliance testing to EMC, safety, radio and other regulatory standardsExpertise in the electro-mechanical, software, mathematical, biomedical engineeringAbility to work on many subjects concurrently.Experience managing direct reports.

Preferred Experience:

Master’s degree preferred

The base pay for this position is $112,000.00 – $224,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
