EO Services provide a strategic capability to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) it’s visiting allies and Defence industry.  We are proudly enabling the ADF to TRAIN – FIGHT – WIN.

Are you ready to make a significant impact? As our Technical Manager, you'll be the driving force for EO Services, ensuring EO meets all regulatory and contractual requirements along with technical assistance to major Defence activities.

In this dynamic role, you'll also actively engage in improvement initiatives focused on reducing risks, enhancing compliance, and minimizing the occurrence of injuries or incidents.

The role will be based at our Orchard Hills site, on Darug land, New South Wales.

Responsibilities include:

Provide timely and accurate technical information to support EO Service operations and maintain compliance with regulatory and contract controls

Ensure validity and relevance of technical processes while managing document reviews for quality assurance

Oversee the investigation and reporting process for EO incident and conduct technical audits of depots and processes

Oversee the Survey and Quote process for timely and successful project delivery in collaboration with regional teams

Manage explosive licensing for all Thales-operated facilities, including applications, risk assessments, and safety cases

Produce risk assessments and safety cases for non-routine and major construction activities at licensed facilities

Coordinate and deliver major construction-related deliverables, including safety cases and quality assurance documentation

Manage the safe disposal of EO in conjunction with the Disposals Manager

Implement technical projects to improve safety and efficiency

On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:

Previous experience in the defence EO supply chain, specifically in the storage, handling, and transport of Dangerous Goods, with an emphasis on Class 1 DG

In-depth understanding of relevant legislation on storage, handling and transport of explosives and its operational environment

Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex technical documentation, regulations, and legislation, as well as author intricate technical risk assessments

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, combined with business management expertise in coordinating complex tasks, project planning, and earned value techniques

Certificate IV in Public Safety (Explosive Ordnance), relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent experience
