Objectives of the Position         

Responsible for ramping up and growing BASF Intermediates’ technology licensing business in selected subregion of Asia Pacific, mainly India and ASEAN

 

Main Tasks

To develop customized technology license packages, including engineering services and catalysts supply, for licensees constructing production plants using BASF technologies. To build and maintain long-term relationships with industry partners (licensees, engineering partners, vendors) to enhance BASF’s business on a global scaleTo collect, monitor, analyze and share competitive intelligence to gain competitive advantage for BASFTo represent BASF in industry associations, conferences, trade shows, customers events etc. through presenting technical and/or industry-relevant topics and networking To collaborate with other BASF business units including Catalysts, Engineering, Intellectual Property and Global Intermediates Technology (EVC, GE, GBI and CIS/T) to present BASF’s package offerings to the licensees To negotiate technology license contracts (TLCs) and ancillary agreements required to conclude licensing deals. Negotiations involve both technical and commercial aspects (e.g. license fee).To take on special projects/initiatives as required

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical EngineeringMBA or post-graduate degree is an advantageExtensive (10 years) experience in engineering service, preferably in petrochemical or chemical plantsExperience in technical marketing and sales; advanced negotiation skills preferred  High degree of knowledge related to the engineering and design (pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Engineering) of chemical plants
