How a Network Administrator Senior will Make an Impact:

Responsible for designs, projects, and expansion of wireless networks at NIH Bethesda campus and satellite offices within the DC-MD-VA area and nationallyLeverage in-person and virtual connections to coordinate projects and work actions to take the burden of IT off our customers so they can focus on the scienceContribute your knowledge and experience to the collective pool at NIH and helping other IT pros at the institute level work better for their communityWorking together with the CIT federal team and other service areas as ONE CIT to serve NIHHelping ensure the wireless network infrastructure and the associated internet and intranet services are available to scientists, researchers, patients, etc… with maximum uptime by responding quickly and thoroughly to incidents, requests, coverage issues, and sudden outagesUtilizing your experience of wireless infrastructure and following of evolving technologies and changing industry standards to develop solutions for a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and ever-changing enterprise federal environment that needs to remain compliant and secure but also not holding back scientific discovery and progress

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree (or high school diploma accompanied with relevant experience and professional certification)Minimum three (3) years of wireless network administration experience including performing extensive site surveys, creating and reviewing wireless designs, managing wireless projects in an enterprise environmentExperience with Ekahau and Cisco InsiderCCNP Wireless Enterprise certificate requiredEkahau Design certificate requiredMust be able to obtain an NIH public trust

Desired Skills:

Experience with Wireless Infrastructure / 802.1xExperience with Monitoring Tools (i.e Sitescope/Solarwinds/Sciencelogic)Experience with ServiceNow or RemedyBe meticulous in documentation showing work performed so that it may be reviewed, recreated or presented to managementBe organized with their workspaceBe able to work in a team setting or with other IT pros effectively in-person or virtually for root cause analysisStrong sense of responsibility and ownership of tasks

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
