Responsibilities Make an impact You will functional lead and coordinate a team of approximately 3-5 mechanical engineers based in Dortmund You conduct detail mechanical engineering in customer projects by using standard products as well as customizations for our light goods conveyor systems Detailed 3D CAD product configuration and engineering to order design for customer projects using SolidWorks and Siemens Teamcenter is part of this role You will also provide production drawings and BOM’s in the PLM system You will have the responsibility for resource planning within the team Further more you will have the responsibility for project specific customizations and developments You will coordinate external engineering resources within the projects You will be advancing the toolchain with a focus on global standardization You are the central point of contact with a high level of expertise You will also collaborate intensively with internal partners across sales support, project management, production, purchasing, product development and onsite teams Supporting sales processes with effort estimations is part of this role You will work closely with your peers in other locations You are the representative for Production Engineering in global initiatives Application Requirements What you need to succeed You are bringing a degree in mechanical engineering or mechatronics or equivalent to the table You made professional experience in mechanical engineering with modular and standardized products but also with customizations, ideally with a focus on conveyor technology You bring profound knowledge in 3D CAD systems and PLM systems, ideally in SolidWorks, Siemens NX and Siemens Teamcenter. Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP) is a plus Some experience in project management with a structured approach to overseeing engineering projects is a plus A structured way of working and passion for process optimizations are defining you You also bring strong teamwork abilities and good communication skills as well as a passion for inspiring and motivating teams You are fluent in both German and English. You are open to occasionally travel between company locations.
