Key Responsibilities:

 

Oversee all Finance & P&C technology operational processes and optimise them as needed (e.g. month end) Monitor efficiency and assess, monitor and upgrade processes and procedures accordingly Assist in building relationships with suppliers and creating cost-efficient contracts Oversee compliance for data security and governance Oversee internal and external audit related activities and support business continuity activities Oversee and manage stakeholder communications Control budget and report on expenditure for BAU operational support Maintain a close working relationship with users, third parties, vendors and stakeholders by assisting with inquiries related to data and application operations, issues, and workflows. Work closely with Delivery, Applications, IT Services and IT Platforms leads, to understand future demand and pipeline of work and ensure readiness of teams in terms of skills, size, locations etc.

 

Service Operations

Process owner for Incident Management and Problem Management and ensure that Root Cause Analysis is documented together with the corrective actions. Own and manage any BAU Defects through dedicated capacity based on business priority and impact. Manage escalation of business-critical problems to resolution working closely with the internal support teams or external suppliers. Act as Major Incident Owner and coordinate all corrective actions across various support teams to ensure the impact to the business is limited. Ensure operational governance processes are correctly followed and adhered to (e.g. Change Management, Access Management, etc.).

 

Service Management

Actively involved in assessing business demand and renegotiate support contracts to ensure relevant agreements are in place to deliver the expected service levels based on set budgets. Defining IT services delivery framework and the metrics of SLAs for COG Data teams and services delivered by the suppliers. Act as the hierarchical escalation point for any SLA breaches for any of the internal IT teams (shared services) or external teams (suppliers). Ensure the services provided are within the agreed SLAs with the business. Implement relevant business and IT reports to monitor all aspects of the service, use these to identify service improvement initiatives. Work with the business stakeholder to update all Business continuity Plans and coordinating all regular Disaster Recovery testing activities. Running regular review with the business stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve the current Disaster Recovery plans or implementations. Coordinate all infrastructure, security vulnerabilities and software upgrades as required and input into platform capacity management. Conduct monthly/quarterly/annual service review meetings with Head of Data Delivery (Finance / P&C), to ensure an acceptable level of operational performance. Provide regular comprehensive tailored reporting to the stakeholders on the service performance that include Service and Operational Reports.

 

Service Transition

Work closely with the Delivery teams to coordinate all the Service Design and Transition activities. Create the Service Design and Transition plans and documents to outline project expectations, scope and schedule Define a transition framework used by the squads to engage with the support team and smoothly transition the services into production. Define Service Transition processes following ITIL framework, and various templates to reduce the cost of transition activities on the project. Define or update existing processes and policies for COG Finance / P&C Data team

 

Supplier Management

Effectively build and maintain relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders. Monitor and drive compliance of the suppliers with obligations within the agreement and alignment to Regulatory requirements. Monitor the delivery of the suppliers against the appropriate level of commitment in the agreement. Manage the relation with Suppliers and work closely with them to ensure continuous improvement of the overall service delivered for business core services. Track and report the improvements driven by these initiatives to relevant stakeholders

 

Experience & Skills Required:

Whilst a technical background in either data or software delivery is valuable for this role, there are several key capabilities that the successful candidate needs to be able to demonstrate which are more important than a strong technical background:

Product Management / Operations experience: Product management experience with fintech experience.  Leadership: Having the ability to communicate a product vision, a set of objectives, as well as delivering change through teams (both internal and third party) is a key feature of the role. Communication & stakeholder management: The role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively and influence at different levels of the organisation, from the individual developer in the team through to the Director level. The successful candidate needs to be able to manage complexity in prioritisation and stakeholder management, as well as being very adept at written, verbal, and listening skills. Project management – experience leading multiple squads/teams of product managers, data analysts​ and vendors, comfortable working in a complex, fast-moving environment with a wide range of different tools and technologies. Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills with ability to research, assess and develop observations/findings.

Technical Capabilities

+5 years' hands-on experience with Service Management / ITIL framework​ and process mapping. ITIL certified Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google, Databricks, Snowflake)​. Experience with AI including machine learning​. In-depth understanding of Finance tools and technologies, strong knowledge of Agile principles and processes, experience working in Value Streams and/or product development. Any experience of Oracle would be highly desirable as would a BS/MS in software engineering, computer science, mathematics.
