Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, performance tuning, and maintenance of our MongoDB database systems. You will play a vital role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of our data, supporting our development teams with best practices in database management. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Install, configure, and maintain MongoDB databases in a high-availability environment. 

Monitor database performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and optimize queries for performance efficiency. 

Implement and manage replication, sharding, backup, and recovery strategies. 

Develop and enforce database backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability. 

Collaborate with development teams to design database schemas and ensure adherence to best practices in data modeling. 

Perform upgrades and updates to MongoDB versions as necessary to take advantage of new features and performance improvements. 

Automate routine database maintenance tasks using scripting and tools. 

Troubleshoot database issues and provide solutions promptly to minimize downtime. 

Ensure database security and compliance with data protection regulations. 

Document database configurations, processes, and changes for future reference. 

Participate in on-call rotations for database incidents, including emergency response and recovery scenarios. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

Proven experience as a MongoDB Administrator or in a similar role managing large-scale databases. 

Strong understanding of MongoDB architecture and its features (aggregation, indexing, replication, sharding). 

Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization of MongoDB queries. 

Experience with monitoring tools such as MongoDB Cloud Manager, Ops Manager, or other similar application performance monitoring tools. 

Knowledge of database security best practices and tools. 

Familiarity with other database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) is a plus. 

Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation tasks. 

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

MongoDB certifications (e.g., MongoDB Certified DBA or Developer). 

Experience with cloud-based database services (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. 

Knowledge of container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker) can be beneficial.
