RBC’s Global Payments Technology team is on an exciting journey to modernize the way how RBC and Canada will complete digital payments. The future of payments will look much different in coming years and we are just getting started! As Technical Lead, you will have the opportunity to lead a full-stack and cross-functional team that designs, builds and deploys payment applications to cloud environments. Your work will help shape the future of payments at RBC contributing to faster, more resilient and more secure global money movement.Job Description
What will you do?
Lead an Agile squad to create new services and applications using the latest technologies that will shape the future of payments for RBCDevelop high-performance, highly scalable APIs, engines and operations UI used globallyWork closely with fellow leaders and team members across to execute and plan the team’s technical roadmap and visionProvide mentorship, coaching and hands-on support to developers on you rteamEmpower your team to produce high-quality code and end-to-end payment solutionsDeploy often and look to continuously improve the software development lifecycleWhat do you need to succeed?
Must-have
B.S. degree in Computer Science / related technical field, or equivalent practical experienceSignificant hands-on experience with Java and / or JavaScript developmentDeep technical expertise in at least one key web development function (API, persistence, cloud native, single page application, etc.) along with a willingness to learn and support team members where neededExperience working within the full professional software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes, testing and deploymentsExperience in a technical leadership positionExcellent communication and the ability to translate technical details into human termsNice-to-have
Breadth of knowledge with components across our technology stack (Spring Boot, Angular, Kafka, MongoDB, SQL, OCP, Azure, Akka, Camunda, etc.)Experience with facilitating team sessions following an Agile methodology (Kanban, Scrum, etc.)Experience with solution architecture, and a track record of anticipating challenges and designing solutions to overcome themExperience with DevOps / continuous delivery deployment processesWhat’s in it for you?
