Technical Infrastructure Program Manager, DC Power Utilization Management

As part of the AWS Infrastructure organization, Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD) prepares for plans and builds the data centers that comprise the AWS cloud.

We’re seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to oversee data center electrical infrastructure optimization projects. The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will lead cross-functional and technical teams identify sub-optimal utilization, determine root causes, design solutions and drive project delivery. Along the way, you will use your judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytic talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers, construction managers, sourcing specialists and planners, manage to schedule and budget, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal), not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities, and be capable of understanding mechanical/electrical engineering concepts.

Other requirements include experience with MS Office, MS Project and MS SharePoint. Experience with Tableau, KanBan, Playbook, SQL and systems integration a plus.

Key job responsibilities
- Optimize utilization of electrical distribution systems across AWS data center fleet
- Partner with electrical and mechanical engineers across data center (DC) engineering, DC operations, Field engineering teams to drive remediation for underutilized equipment
- Develop and execute SOPs for remediation of oversubscribed electrical distribution systems in partnership with electrical engineering teams
- Work with software development teams to enhance existing software solutions for optimal server rack placement with data center cold aisles to balance loads
