We are seeking an exceptionally accomplished Technical Expert in Brake Systems Engineering to join our dynamic and globally integrated Brake Engineering team. In this critical role, you will leverage your deep expertise to lead the development and advancement of our next-generation braking technologies, particularly as vehicle systems evolve with increasing mechatronic content and complexity.
You will provide indispensable technical leadership to our global core and applications brake engineering teams, guiding the development of core foundation documents for Brake System Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) and establishing robust standards for Functional Safety (ISO 26262). Your proven ability to pilot and refine processes, such as Technical Design Reviews (TDRs) and engineering discipline applications (e.g., DVP&R, DFMEA), will be key to ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance. You will also be instrumental in optimizing system integration by leading the engineering of interfaces with neighboring vehicle systems (e.g., Power Supply, Powertrain, CAN).

What you'll do...
+ Providing comprehensive technical leadership as a Technical Expert in Brake Systems Engineering to all global brake engineering teams.
+ Leading the development of core foundation documents for Brake System Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA).
+ Leading the development of standards and requirements for Brake System Functional Safety.
+ Leading the engineering of interfaces with neighboring systems, including Power supply, Powertrain, and CAN.
+ Supporting Technical Leaders (TLs) in writing brake system level Requirements and Test Methods.
+ Leading the MagicDraw rollout for all brake core documents across the global team, including leading related training.
+ Supporting Brake Applications Engineers in achieving successful sign-off of the Brake System Technical Design Review (TDR) with Brake Tech Leaders.
+ Driving the cooperative initiative of Atomic Requirements.
+ Contributing to microchip sourcing strategy development.
+ Supporting rare earth metal management efforts.
+ Assisting Technical Leaders with the Park Brake Technology roll out.
+ Leading problem-solving efforts for complex system-level performance issues and quality issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.
+ Representing brake system engineering in the Brake Technical Leaders Strategy Forum and other leadership discussions.
You'll have...
**Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar discipline.**
10+ years of progressive experience in automotive brake systems engineering, with significant experience in global technical leadership roles.

Graduate Degree in Engineering or similar discipline.
Demonstrated work experience in functional Brake Engineering at Ford, another OEM, or a major Brake Systems supplier.
Deep expertise in brake system design, development, validation, and integration with vehicle mechatronic systems.
Strong understanding and practical application of Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) principles.
Proficiency with MagicDraw for core document development and process standardization.
Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and understanding of mechatronic systems and embedded controls.
Digital Fluency: Ability to not just use technology, but to truly understand how it works and apply that understanding to problem-solve, create, and adapt to new systems and tools. This emphasizes critical thinking and conceptual grasp of digital concepts alongside technical skills.
Strong leadership skills – an inherent self-starter, self-motivated, with a strong drive for results.
Proven project management skills, capable of managing complex initiatives by balancing big-picture objectives with detailed administration.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering collaboration and driving results.
Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to lead complex technical problem-solving initiatives.
Able to work effectively in unfamiliar and unstructured situations and achieve success.
Ability to travel and support Ford Motor Company final assembly plants and supplier sites, when required, during project delivery.
