Technical Expert, Coal Plants & Projects Requisition ID: 139419 Location: Papua, ID, 99967 Category: Engineering Services Share this Job Why You Should Apply For This Job: Provide assistance and support to the Managers in the coordination of activities related to the safe, reliable and efficient operation & maintenance of the coal fired power plant diesel generation facilities and LNG combined cycle power plant to support the customer’s energy requirements enabling them to meet operational goals and to provide for the safety, health and wellbeing of all employees. Provide support to ensure facilities operate in compliance with all GoI environmental approved regulations. Proactively participate as a member of the Power Generation & Transmission (PG&T) management and leadership team by working closely with and efficiently integrating with the work processes and activities requirements of the customer, PT Freeport Indonesia. Focus specific attention on the improvement of safety, operational efficiency and reliability and the delivery of excellent customer service. Participate in and assist PG&T Managers and senior national staff in key functions of capital and operations & maintenance projects: + Financial, cost benefits and feasibility analysis + Engineering, design and constructability reviews + Project operational integration and specifications **_Additional Responsibilities:_** 1. Assist the Highlands and Lowlands Managers to ensure that all PG&T facilities are safe, reliable and operate efficiently, ensuring continuity of power supply is available to meet PTFI’s production goals and needs of personnel Quality of Life. 2. Development and continued update of the W2W Asset Management Processes. 3. Process Improvements - provide feedback to the Manager on ways to improve Power Plant Maintenance processes and Shutdown, Turn Around. 4. Development and coordination of the ten (10) Year Look Ahead Plan Programs or Work. 5. Assist the Senior Management in the development of the Yearly Business Plan. 6. Provide Technical Support for the Coal, Diesel and Combined cycle Plant Maintenance activities and during Major Plant Shutdowns and Overhauls – + Identification and correction of technical issues + GoI and other mandated regulatory compliance to meet or exceed the contractual key result areas. 7. Provide support and directions to the Project Managers in the completion of various PJP Projects. 8. Assist Managers in the development of annual O&M Budgets. 9. Provide leadership and technical support for national employees in all aspects related to O&M services of the PG&T Power Generation Facilities – • Compliance with employee health and safety regulations • Employee technical and leadership development 10. Provide professional leadership / support in the implementation of risk and hazard identification and driving management workshops. 11. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other internal and external groups to ensure effective use of available resources to meet corporate goals. 12. Demonstrate commitment and alignment with PTFI company goals to ensure a close and trust-based working relationship with the client 13. Responsible to the Lowlands Operations Manager as an expert on matters relating to the coal and combined cycle generation facilities, including strategy and development. 14. Develop technical knowledge and management expertise of the National employees to ensure strong depth in the organization to meet forthcoming succession planning requirements. 15. Serve as Project Lead for major power plant projects. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree / diploma in relevant engineering discipline **or** high school diploma / trade certification. + Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience related to technical aspects of thermal and diesel power generation O&M of which at least five (5) years have been in a senior department or facilities management level position. + Significant power plant O&M and project experience. + Ten (10) years of relevant experience related to development, implementation and completion of major construction projects. + Strong mechanical, projects knowledge, and a sound understanding of the technical aspects of a thermal and diesel power plant process and maintenance requirements. + Ability to work collaboratively with a multicultural team in order to complete project objectives. + Ability to act with minimal direction. + Able to work effectively within collaborating arrangements, and/or new processes or cultures. + Ability to listen to and react appropriately to the client needs + Strong interpersonal skills to move issues, and solutions forward. + Initiates action promptly to accomplish objectives (being proactive). + Ability to perform under stress and continue to deliver high quality results in key performance areas. **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree / diploma in a projects discipline is desirable. **Criteria/Conditions** + Copper Overseas Service Company ("COSCO") promotes a drug/ alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable Company Standards COSCO has reviewed the jobs at its various office and operating sites and determined that many of these jobs include tasks or duties that could affect the safety or health of the employees performing these tasks or others.
