Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech The Technical Director role focuses on the execution of various Cost Improvement Projects (CIPs) aimed at reducing costs while ensuring high-quality standards. The Technical Director will play a vital part in enhancing project delivery by leveraging engineering resources and process innovation for components, whether through dual sourcing or new components design or engineering projects. **Primary Objectives** + **Project Execution Excellence:** Lead the execution of large-scale projects that drive cost improvement and enhance product quality across the Electrophysiology Supply Chain in strong partnership with R&D and Quality + **Innovation in Engineering:** Implement innovative design and process changes that reduce costs, improve efficiency, and maintain design integrity for components. + **Collaboration with Suppliers:** Work closely with internal and external suppliers to evaluate and implement cost-effective alternatives for direct materials, including dual sourcing strategies or redesigning components as needed. + **Team Development:** Mentor and develop technical and project management leaders within the Electrophysiology supply chain. **Key Responsibilities** + Utilize cross-departmental resources effectively to implement projects, ensuring adherence to project management best practices. + Navigate and coordinate within a highly matrixed organization, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across multiple functions. + Work closely with R&D to facilitate the translation of product design specifications into practical project execution, ensuring that quality standards are not only met but exceeded. + Ensure all CIP projects for components, whether through dual sourcing or new design, are compatible with existing processes to enhance operational efficiency. **Key Qualifications** + **Leadership Skills:** Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams while fostering a culture of collaboration and effectiveness. + **Project Management Expertise:** Extensive experience in executing complex projects across multiple departments and functions. + **Strategic Thinking:** Ability to assess future needs and develop a comprehensive talent, technical, and business strategy. + **Relationship Management:** Exceptional interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives. **Strategic Vision and Leadership** - Assess future needs and develop and deploy a technical, talent and business strategy to address those needs. Provide key **Product & Process Engineering** capabilities to deliver product /component design and technical changes that deliver cost savings across the EP supply base. **R&D and New Product Introductions** – Drive partnership with commercial and R&D to optimize the product design with components that are designed to value. **Project and Program Management** - Ensure excellence in Project Management in the execution of projects and provide PM best practices for entire E2E Supply Chain. Scout, select, and implement **Advanced Capabilities** (automation, process engineering, digital etc.) to support future growth and cost improvement in the platform. **Operations and Engineering Management** - Partner with manufacturing sites to implement and optimize CIP projects. **People development** – develop key technical, project management and managerial leaders for the Electrophysiology supply chain. **Qualifications:** + A Bachelors Degree in Engineering is required. + A minimum of 8 years medical device manufacturing, quality and/or R&D is required. + 3 years minimum of people management experience is required. + Experience in the following industries: Medical device supply chain, Manufacturing, Quality and R&D is preferred. + Certifications such as APICS, ASQ certifications, Six Sigma, LEAN Mfg, PMP are preferred.
