This is a technical leadership role, not focused on delivery or commercial management. The successful candidate will act as a technical authority, supporting design excellence, quality assurance, and innovation across various projects."" + Act as the technical authority for complex civil engineering projects across infrastructure, buildings, and T&I sectors. + Provide design leadership, guidance, and technical direction to multidisciplinary teams throughout all project stages. + Lead technical reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and client expectations. + Oversee value engineering and technical risk assessment activities. + Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and technical staff. + Collaborate with other technical directors and discipline leads across the business to promote design excellence and innovation. + Engage with clients on technical matters, providing expert input during project inception, design, and review phases. + Represent WSP in technical meetings with stakeholders, clients, and authorities when required. + Support bids and proposals by contributing technical content and demonstrating WSP’s capabilities. + Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred. + 20+ years of relevant experience with a strong focus on technical design and engineering across infrastructure, buildings, and T&I projects. + Extensive experience working with consulting firms or engineering design organizations. + Deep understanding of regional and international design codes and standards (e.g., ACI, BS, Eurocodes). + Proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary design projects. + Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. + Ability to lead technical teams and influence outcomes through expertise and collaboration. + Experience in the Middle East, particularly in KSA, is highly desirable. + Chartered Engineer status (e.g., MICE, PE, or equivalent) is a plus.
