The Cyber Security Data Protection Service is responsible for driving information security throughout Ford to enable a securely connected digital business and prevent the unauthorized disclosure of the company’s most sensitive data. Our Insider Threat Program is seeking a Data Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of our UEBA (User Entity & Behavioral Analysis) platform.
The goal of our program is to proactively detect and mitigate threats, protect information assets, identify security risks, and participate in multi-discipline working groups to assess and reduce insider risk. This team functions with high visibility working with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
The minimum requirements we seek:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information System Management, or a related field 2+ years in proven experience as a data engineer or similar role with a focus on data integration and ELT processes Experience working with APIs to extract and integrate data from diverse sources Proficiency in Alteryx or similar for data blending, cleansing, and transformation Strong proficiency in SQL and Python Experience in GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, etc..) to build and manage data platforms Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and troubleshoot issues A passion for data, innovation, and continuous learninOur preferred requirements:
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Tekton, and other automation frameworks. Utilize APIs to extract data from various sources such as databases, web services, and third-party platforms Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements, understand data needs, and support design solutions that align with business objectives Implement data quality and validation processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data Develop and maintain documentation for data engineering processes, including pipeline configurations, data mappings and transformation rules Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data extraction, transformation, and loading Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering, ELT, and data integration
