Technical Consultant
Location: Lake Bluff, IL (Hybrid: Remote + Chicagoland On-Site Support)
Salary: $55,000–$62,000 + Benefits

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is hiring a Technical Consultant for a full-time role with a growing IT services firm. This hybrid position combines remote work with on-site support at client locations throughout Chicagoland.

You’ll provide hands-on technical support to business clients, maintaining and troubleshooting desktops, servers, and network infrastructure. We're looking for someone dependable, personable, and technically sharp—equally comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair hardware/software issues on desktops and laptops

Install, configure, and support Microsoft Windows Servers and Exchange

Set up and maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, access points, firewalls)

Document network configurations and system changes

Deliver both remote and on-site technical support

Complete time logs and internal documentation accurately

(Optional) Support Apple products
Qualifications
1–2 years of IT support experience in a business environment

Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (required)

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and prioritize

Associate’s degree or higher (Bachelor’s preferred); equivalent experience considered

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
Compensation & Benefits
