Job Summary
The Windchill Technical Manager is responsible for leading, optimizing and standardizing the design and development of work processes that use Zimmer Biomet’s Global Windchill PLM system. Expanding the use of PLM in the enterprise through integrations. This role is responsible for daily Windchill operations and continuous improvement based on Zimmer Biomet’s processes and procedures.

Solution Architecture & Design
Define and maintain Windchill and related Thingworx Navigate applications using Agile methods and Azure DevOpsDefine appropriate Epics and Features and direct the development of User Stories based on business and technical requirementsDesign integrations between Windchill and other enterprise systems (ERP, MES, CAD, ALM, etc.).Ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable PLM configurationsResearches and validates innovative solutions (both external and internal), leveraging best practices for quality, NPI and process efficiencies.Provides direction for migration strategies and appropriate use of the Windchill Bulk Migrator ToolTechnical Leadership
Lead the technical implementation of Windchill solutions, including upgrades, customizations, and deployments while complying with ZB PMO requirementsDefine development standards for Windchill custom code, Organizations, Groups, Roles, Contexts and other configuration elements of Windchill PDMLink, PartsLink, ProjectLink,MPM Navigate to ensure compatibility after upgrade, and changes to the core systemLead Technical PLM discussions, backlog meetings and solution workshops.Guide System Administrators, Analysts and Developers on best practicesLeads assignments and/or maintains large complexity PLM environment, including requirements definition, internal/external resource management and budgets.Provides mentoring and coaching to Analysts, Developers as necessaryStakeholder Collaboration

This role demands more than configuration—it requires true architectural vision and hands-on expertise across PTC’s digital thread ecosystem.
Core Qualifications:
Deep expertise in PTC Windchill: Proven experience with Windchill Business & System Administration, Workflow Design, Report Writing, Change Management (CMII), and Context Development. Strong capabilities in coding with Windchill APIs and customizing tasks.PTC Navigate and ThingWorx IoT Integration: Hands-on experience implementing, validating, and deploying scalable ThingWorx IoT solutions in complex manufacturing and NPI/BI environments. Familiarity with PTC Navigate development (web services, Info*Engine) is key.Strong understanding of SDLC and software engineering principles: Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate across the software development lifecycle—especially within regulated industries.Data Science or Statistical Background: Comfort working with structured data to drive system analytics, reporting, and informed architecture decisions.Database Proficiency: Familiarity with advanced database concepts; knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is a strong plus.Exceptional communication skills: Ability to articulate complex technical solutions to diverse audiences—engineering, business, and executive leadership alike. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field required with at least 7+ years working in Windchill PDMLink and should've played roles of developer, solution architect; OR Business AdministratorBachelor’s with Master’s degree in business, IT or related field with at least 4+ years relative professional experienceExperienced Solution Architect with Winchill PDMLink,PartsLink, Codebeamer, MPM, ESI preferredTechnical IT certifications preferred (ITIL, COBIT, PTC PLM Professional)Functional knowledge of Windchill Data Model and Windchill Database Model including file vaulting,Travel Expectations
