Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, and conducting in-vivo studies along with all related activities; maintaining accurate health records, project schedules, study data and results; participating in the modification and annual review of protocols; developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for in vivo-related activities; and summarizing and documenting research results and/or findings. Job Requirements REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; four years of specialized lab experience (may include experience gained as an undergraduate); excellent basic animal handling/care skills with experience with sample collection and administration, IACUC protocols, and SOPs; the desire and commitment to work with animals and learn new techniques/procedures; solid organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team; confidence in summarizing and reporting results to researchers with a commitment to exceeding quality standards, providing exceptional services, and producing accurate and high-quality work; and meticulous attention to detail, practiced documentation skills and awareness of basic safety issues and how to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. PREFERRED: Master’s degree; experience with large and small animals in a research field; basic understanding of regulatory requirements; and AALAS (American Association of Laboratory Animal Science) and/or CVT (Certified Veterinary Technician) certification.
