The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking full-time Technical Assistant in our School of Art. The Technical Assistant provides specialized technical assistance to the faculty, professional and administrative staff in the School of Art. They may be responsible for performing a combination of the following duties, depending on the operational needs of the assigned administrative area.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
+ Performs technical work to assist in the efficient operation in the School of Art;
+ Coordinates activities and events and supervises students in the use of College equipment and facilities;
+ Prepares, orders, catalogs, and maintains supplies and supervises their use by students and faculty;
+ Orders, inventories, installs, maintains, and provides for repair of equipment and supervises its use by students and staff;
+ Assists professional or administrative staff in the routine operation of the office or department;
+ Serves as a liaison for the School of Art for other college office and community partners;
+ Supervises and coordinates scheduling for part-time professionals and student employees;
+ Keeps current in all applicable School of Art programs and software;
+ Serves as Juergensen Gallery Co-Chair and coordinates art receptions, exhibition preparation, and exhibition striking:
+ Assists the School of Art office with recruitment events;
+ Performs other duties related to this job description and as assigned by the Dean of the School of Art.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Arts or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
+ A self-motivated individual
+ Experience using printers and screen-printing, knowledge of sewing technologies a plus
+ Knowledge of both PC and Mac platforms
+ Demonstrated understanding of art software
+ Experience working in higher education with a background in Art Gallery preparation
