This individual will work with the Reality Labs organization which helps people around the world come together through next generation Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality. We are seeking a dedicated Technical Artist to serve as a crucial link between our artistic and engineering teams. This role involves collaborating closely with a multifaceted, interconnected team dedicated to crafting engaging experiences to demonstrate technology use cases between research and product. Technical Artist Responsibilities Partner closely with the engineering and design teams to develop experiences across a range of devices. Implement runtime logic within a complex real-time environment with performance limitations in mind. Develop broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks, including diagnosing and fixing bugs. Quickly solve issues with cross-functional leads. Design, manage and maintain the pipeline of artists workflows. Prototype end-to-end experiences in real-time. Author state-machines, retarget animation, and process animation data. Consistently give and take constructive feedback, direct next steps, and communicate clear goals and outcomes to your team. Skills and Requirements Unity unreal python Maya blender rigging, motion mapping, motion capture, animation, motion retargeting Runtime behaviors, asset pipeline Character animation 5+ years of experience developing real-time experiences. Demonstrated expertise with at least one of the following pipelines: Runtime Behaviors, or Asset Pipeline. Experience in content authoring packages (e.g. Maya, Houdini, Blender etc.) Expertise in at least one low-level programming language Expertise in character animation and motion mapping Expertise working with version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.), using advanced workflows. Experience collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams.
