Technical Advisor, Patent Litigation

Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
+ 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
+ Experience with source code versioning systems, such as Git, Subversion, and Mercurial.
Preferred qualifications:
+ Master’s in Computer Science or related field.
+ Experience with software development, including source code authoring and review, across multiple programming languages.
+ Experience with the patent litigation process or with providing technical analysis in intellectual property matters.
+ Ability to develop software tools or scripts to automate tasks and improve team efficiency.
+ Ability to learn and apply new programming languages and technologies.
+ Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to audience.
As a member of this team, you have the opportunity to develop and implement Google's strategy to protect, defend and capture the value of its patents. You participate in varied tasks that include patent-related protection, licensing, dispute resolution (pre-litigation and litigation), acquisition, agreements and policy work. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$206,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. + Work with various Legal, Engineering and Product group members, having knowledge relevant to particular disputes.
+ Develop and maintain technical expertise concerning products at issue by interviewing engineers and reviewing technical documentation and source code.
+ Assist with prior art searches and invalidity and non-infringement analysis of patents at issue.
+ Educate in-house and outside counsel, as well as outside experts, concerning products at issue.
