Technical Accounting Manager
Job Description One of the fastest-growing convenience store operators in the US is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this member of the team will be responsible for issuing the financial statements, proactively managing and documenting key accounting disclosures, and performing in-depth research. The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of GAAP accounting concepts and standards and have a proven track-record of working independently. Position Responsibilities: --Prepare the quarterly financial statement footnotes and supporting documentation, working closely with Controllers, VP of Finance, and CFO with the assistance of staff accountant. --Work with various personnel and departments to collect information and input into the above referenced reports. Coordinate, review and collect comments on the various drafts. Prepare support files. Challenge the appropriateness of disclosures. Complete all relevant disclosure checklists and reporting questionnaires. --Maintain quarterly reporting timetable and monitor progress against reporting cycle milestones. --Responsible for reporting and managing all lease transactions and accounting for the same. --Responsible for accounting and reporting all asset retirement obligations. --Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of complex accounting matters We are a company committed to creating inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting CPA (Certified Public Accountant) 5-10 years of accounting experience Combination of private industry and public accounting experience (Big 4 Audit Preferred) SEC reporting experience (10K / 10Q preparation) Technical Accounting knowledge (ASC 842 and ASC 606) SOX Compliance familiarity Strong Excel proficiency Consumer retail experience ERP software experience Familiarity with FASB and PCAOB regulations null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
