Responsibilities Job Description School-Based Mental Health Technician (Part-Time) The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital offering psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. Our specialized treatment services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, addiction counselors, nurses, and activity therapists. The Ridge Behavioral Health System prides itself as being the only free-standing psychiatric hospital in the Central Kentucky area. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for over 39 years. https://ridgebhs.com Under the supervision of the Director of Outpatient Services, DOS, the MHT provides milieu management while assisting the lead therapist who oversees facilitating PHP and IOP groups. Coordinates discharge planning with the treatment team, family, referral sources, follow-up providers, and utilization review. Responsible for interfacing with the treatment team/external case managers/managed care organizations, referring professionals and implementation and supervision of the discharge planning. Follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities. This opportunity is a part-time, non-exempt position. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Effectively establish rapport with patients and families by adhering to the therapeutic boundaries policy. Take attendance and manage attendance spreadsheet, ensure consent for treatment is signed and uploaded to chart, and admits patients to AS400. Provide clear and correct information to callers, visitors, and coworkers. Follows program schedule with minimal supervision and ensures patient compliance with the same. Orients new admissions to the program, rules, and schedule. Ensures patients are consistently monitored in the proper location for the duration of activities. Follow proper de-escalation techniques when handling crisis situations. Some college course work preferred. Experience One year experience at The Ridge is preferred. Certifications/Licensure Crisis intervention training is required. This training is offered upon hire. CPR Other Skills Must demonstrate basic knowledge of emotional and mental health and disease concepts including the disease of addiction. Must have clear communication / interaction skills and demonstrate competency in facilitating psycho-education groups.
