The Role

As the Quality Process and Engineering Manager, you will report directly to the Plant Quality Manager. In this pivotal role, you will strategically lead and empower the Process and Quality Engineering teams. Your leadership will drive excellence across production, process optimization, equipment reliability, and team development, ensuring the consistent achievement of both internal quality standards and external customer satisfaction objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. At least 5 years of automotive manufacturing experience in quality.5 years of experience working in a leadership role.

Preferred Requirements:

Education: Master’s Degree in Engineering. Proficiency in Assembly manufacturing processes.Experience working in a unionized environment.Working knowledge of:Six SigmaBased Single Agenda for Quality (BSAQ)Global System for Analytics and Reporting (GSAR)Repair Diagnosis Mapping, Cycle Line LayoutWeb Based Data ManagementElectronic Configuration and Test System (ECATS)Error ProofingFord Engineering Design Environment (FEDE)Enterprise Engineering Knowledge System (E2KS)Quality Leadership System (QLS)Knowledge of Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, and Value Stream MappingTotal Quality Management (TQM) and Kaizen Methods.

Note: Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.

Responsible for the management of the quality process engineering team Keep senior plant management and leadership teams updated on all significant quality-related activities Contribute to in the development of strategic action plans to deliver world class quality vehicles to our customersResponsible for quality launch of new vehicle lines Ensure the timely identification, containment and resolution of quality issuesSupervise and evaluate the effectiveness of final vehicle inspection operations Establish quality objectives to be incorporated in the plant’s business plan Coach team to manage equipment and engineering trials, change management, workstation readiness and to co-lead variation reduction Document and evaluate employee contributions to continuous improvement Distribute reports on vehicle warranty claims to relevant stakeholdersProvide feedback and data to appropriate departments on concerns identified by dealers and customers Support the creation and implementation of inspection processes for completed vehicles, ensuring these processes include all mandatory quality checks and address concerns Assist the Pre-Delivery team with managing inventory for inspection gauges, test equipment, and quality control forms Collaborate with the Central Maintenance department to coordinate and develop the capital budget for quality control equipment and improvements Oversee the monitoring of Operator Instruction Sheets to ensure they are current and followed correctly by Quality Control and Pre-Delivery teams Participate in the development and implementation of a quality operation system Contribute to Quality Meetings Daily and Global Product Reviews by providing feedback and coaching to reporting Variability Reduction Teams (VRT) and reviewing audit concerns Coach leaders of all plant-level VRT and Statistical Process Control (SPC) Teams to ensure the proper application procedures and methodologies Manage the product information database ensuring that all product-related data and documents are accurate and current Review and support action plan for all quality surveillance failures Identify heat map for department and work with plant engineering to support improvement Coordinate resources and activities of process engineers to support production needs for quality improvement and equipment uptime Own, lead, and support the Pre-Delivery Control Plans along with the Plant Vehicle Evaluation Manager.
