Team Leader – Shipping & Receiving

Summary

 

Reporting to the Site Leader and Operations Leader, the Team Leader - Shipping & Receiving is responsible for the efficient shipping/receiving of packaging and production materials, in a fast-paced, just-in-time (JIT) food manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and team work among Team MembersConduct pre-shift huddles and provides feedback for Team Members Leads, coaches, mentors and trains Team MembersOversees the receipt and warehousing of incoming ingredients and packaging materialsResponsible for managing all material transfers to production Responsible for scheduling all drivers/trucks/carriersResponsible for inventory accuracy and cycle counting processAssists planning team with managing inventory levelsEnsures Operations Management System (OMS) procedures are being followed (entering inventory into the operating system)Ensures all health and safety and food safety principles are followed and adhered toMaintains excellent working relationships and teamwork with internal departments, external customers and suppliers Updates team on daily issues and fosters an environment of continuous improvement Performs additional duties as needed

 

Required Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environmentMinimum 1 year leadership experienceMust have a valid forklift operator license (Counter Balance/Raymond Reach) from a recognized training providerAbility to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task Strong communication, organization, problem solving and analytical skillsStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
