Job Description:

As Maintenance Team Lead at Mars, you will be responsible for leading a team of 15–20 associates in preventive maintenance activities to ensure optimal factory performance. You will drive strategic initiatives, manage small investment projects, and contribute to long-term asset planning. This role combines people leadership, functional expertise, and strategic thinking to continuously improve safety, quality, and efficiency across the technical organization.

What will be your key responsibilities?

1.People Leadership

​Line management of a maintenance team of 15-20 associates, including workforce planning, training, performance evaluation, and personal developmentBuild a high-performing and engaged team through coaching, individual development plans, and targeted initiatives to improve safety, quality, and performanceAct as a role model in operational processes, lead functional meetings, and support root cause analysesCommunicate clearly and transparently about initiatives within the factory and the broader business

2. Functional Leadership

Lead and develop the preventive maintenance team (technicians, planners and stockroom operators) to implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize factory performance and output while optimizing costDrive daily, weekly, and periodic performance reviews to ensure efficiency and target achievementEnsure compliance with all relevant safety regulations (e.g., UVV, Mars Health & Safety Standards) and lead safety programs (e.g., LOTO, technical risk assessments)Coordinate external contractors and ensure adherence to legal, safety and quality standardsIndependently manage small investment projects, including full documentation and handover to production and maintenanceSupport the implementation of larger projects and take ownership of specific project areasCo-manage the maintenance budget and contribute to the development of a long-term asset investment programRepresent the site in regional maintenance leadership networksEnsure auditing and compliance with legal and Mars-specific requirements within the technical departmentAct -together with the other Maintenance Team Lead- as the point of escalation during evenings and weekend when required.Cover for the technical manager when needed

3. Strategic Maintenance

Actively contribute to the maintenance strategy as a member of the Site Technical Leadership TeamCollaborate with leadership peers to improve asset performance and drive strategic investment planningLead the development of the technical organization through the implementation of the TPM program
