Our Team: Our BloombergNEF Data team builds data products that help clients navigate the transition to a low-carbon economy. By bringing together insights from multiple sources, we deliver high-impact datasets that support decision-making in markets where transparency is limited. Our datasets are designed to support financial professionals, corporate strategists, policymakers, and analysts who need deep insights into clean energy, transportation, commodities, and climate tech markets. We collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders across BNEF product areas, including Research, Engineering and Product. The Role: As our department continues to grow in scale and complexity, we are increasing leadership capacity to enable a more focused approach across technical and product domains including data modeling, workflow evolution and AI integration. As a result, we are seeking a new Team Leader to oversee the data management, quality, and processes behind our core dataset. In this role, you will oversee a group of data professionals with diverse expertise, guiding them to apply best practices and deliver accurate, client-ready data. This role demands critical thinking, strong execution, and the ability to foster a high-performing, inclusive culture. Success will rely on close collaboration with partners across Engineering, Product, Research, Enterprise, as well as regional counterparts. We’ll Trust You To: + Lead, mentor, and grow a team focused on delivering high-quality, time-sensitive data + Drive collaboration with key partners across Product, Sales, Research, and Engineering to deliver impactful, client-ready data + Champion data governance, quality controls, and process transparency through client-centric metrics + Guide team development in data modeling and ETL of both structured and unstructured data, working closely with Engineering to build scalable, multi-product data solutions + Establish and enforce standards to ensure data meets SLAs and supports exceptional client service + Build subject matter expertise and stay ahead of industry trends to identify gaps and innovation opportunities + Collaborate globally to enhance workflows, ensuring consistent, efficient data quality across products and regions You’ll Need to Have: + 3+ years leading teams or significant experience leading projects and/or initiatives + Solid experience working with financial data + Proven track record establishing strong credibility and building influential relationships with your team as well as multiple internal clients and partners + Hands-on experience related to data quality, data modeling, or data engineering workflows + Strong analytical skills and comfort using tools like Python, SQL, and/or Tableau + Clear and confident communicator, able to connect team goals to business outcomes + Experience working with large and complex datasets + Ability to use both quantitative and qualitative insights to drive strategy + Strong relationship-building skills across technical and commercial teams We’d love to see: + Experience or knowledge in Energy Transition, Bloomberg products, and/or Bloomberg data workflows + Deep understanding of how financial data drives decisions across businesses + Proven track record delivering data-driven transformation — such as advanced data modeling, automated workflows, or data quality and governance initiative Salary Range = 135000 - 230000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
