Division / Location / ShiftJoin our diverse team at Viral Vector Services (VVS), a division of Thermo Fisher Scientific. We specialize in innovative gene therapies and support clients from process development through commercial supply. Based in the forefront of Cell and Gene Therapy, you will contribute to curing genetic, rare, and untreatable diseases.
Location: United StatesSupport and complete a capital facility project by constructing a new commercial manufacturing facility.
Shift Hours: 12-hour shifts (7pm - 7am) on a rotating schedule (2-2-3)
Key Responsibilities:Lead critical cell banking and/or downstream operations.Follow all company policies including safety, training, GDP (Good Documentation Practices), clean room gowning, attendance, and PTO (Paid Time Off).Practice and promote safe work habits and adhere to safety procedures and guidelines.Apply manufacturing process knowledge and investigational skills to identify and resolve manufacturing issues and drive continuous improvement in process operations.Coordinate training with the team either in class or on the floor as needed. Be an SME on multiple processes.Foster a high-performance team with wide-ranging strengths to achieve ambitious objectives.Provide frequent feedback and mentorship to others on ways to improve performance.Recognize and celebrate successes.Preferred Experience/Skills:High School Diploma/GED is the minimum requirement. Bachelor's Degree in Business or Life Sciences desired
2+ years' proven experience in aseptic processing, chromatography, tangential flow filtration and other purification processes preferred
1 years of leadership experience preferred
Proven track record to empower non-exempt employees and proven management skills, (i.e., business knowledge, leadership, communication, ability to analyze technical issues, conflict resolution)
Detailed knowledge of cGMPs
Ability to function in a fast paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities simultaneously Strong planning, organization and multitasking skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Ability to make decisions and work with minimal to moderate supervision.
Ability to provide effective written or verbal communication to peers, senior associates, and area management within their operational groups in support of investigations, project updates and team performance
Physical Demands/Factors:Gown aseptically and/or sterile gown as needed.Write and review documentation for extended periods. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Regularly required to talk and hear, sit and stand for extended periods.Occasionally required to lift, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.We look forward to your application!
