As a Team Leader, Aerospace Assembly at our Huntsville, Alabama facility you will help produce advanced aerospace transparencies and coatings used in military and commercial aviation around the world. This site operates 24 hours a day, supporting a variety of global aerospace customers on safety, innovation, and quality. You will operate with a required weekend coverage once per month. Shift hours will be between 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM and 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM, based on operational needs. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager you will lead a team in achieving safety, quality, and performance targets while creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with functional area supervisors and managers to meet production goals and ensure on-time delivery to our aerospace customers.
Directly manage hourly production employees, managing performance and coaching to guide team success.
Identify and eliminate waste in all production processes by applying lean manufacturing principles.
Maintain daily production schedules while monitoring workflow and resolving issues in real time.
Maintain safe operations and a clean work environment by enforcing safety policies and ensuring use and maintenance of equipment.
Support materials planning by maintaining accurate inventory levels of supplies and tools.
Use SPC (Statistical Process Control) and other data-driven methods to improve product quality and process efficiency.
Be the liaison with support teams (Quality, Maintenance, Planning) to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership or supervisory role.
At least 3 years of experience managing people, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
Prior experience in a 24/7 production environment or aerospace manufacturing.
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
