Key Responsibilities:

Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Lead structural design of steel structures under seismic, wind, and snow loads using both local and international standards.

Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, providing technical input, reviewing work, and fostering professional growth.

Manage complex projects from design to erection, ensuring timelines, KPIs, change management, and quality standards are met.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Weir business units, interdisciplinary teams, and customers to deliver innovative, compliant solutions.

Drive technical excellence by reviewing third-party designs, resolving site issues, and ensuring alignment with specifications and best practices.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in structural analysis and connection design, including manual calculations and verification of structural elements under various load conditions.

Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with mineral processing equipment, international safety standards (e.g., walkways, handrails, ladders), and construction methods including transport, fabrication, and erection tolerances.

Advanced Engineering Skills: Proficient in dynamic analysis, fatigue stress calculations, and specialized areas such as bin/hopper design, earthquake engineering, and foundation systems (e.g., concrete pedestals, pile foundations).

Software Proficiency: Skilled in structural and connection design tools (e.g., Dlubal RFEM, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, Idea Statica), CAD platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla), and 3D model viewers (e.g., Navisworks, Autodesk Viewer).

Project & Client Management: Proven ability to manage large, complex projects independently, make sound decisions, and maintain strong client relationships across Weir business units and external stakeholders.

Core Competencies: Demonstrates customer focus, collaboration, performance mindset, effective communication, and sound decision-making in a fast-paced engineering environment.
