About the role:
Purpose
The Team Lead - Infrastructure and Cloud is responsible for leading a technical team within the Infrastructure & Cloud Services area, which is at the forefront of providing essential IT infrastructure and central services to support NEXT's global operations. This includes Cloud, Networking, Data Centers, virtual servers/servers (Windows and Linux), desktops, Licensing, mobile phones, and central services such as Microsoft Azure, GSuite, GCP, file services, Citrix, and Active Directory.
The role involves managing and mentoring a team of engineers to ensure the stability, security, and efficient delivery of infrastructure and cloud solutions, including contributing to the transition from on-premise to a Cloud Driven infrastructure. The Team Lead will provide technical oversight, drive best practices, manage workload, and collaborate with other technology teams and stakeholders to ensure reliable and high-performing infrastructure that underpins the business.
Leadership and Management
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of DevOps and Cloud engineers and ServiceNow developers. Manage the teams’ workload, ensuring efficient task distribution and timely delivery on commitments. Foster a collaborative team environment and promote Agile ways of working where applicable. Identify team training requirements and assist with skills gap analysis and development plans. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to team member.
Deliverables
Ensure that the team’s effort focuses on achieving maximum value. Oversee your teams’ workload, ensuring that they’re able to deliver on commitments. Help the team monitor performance, resolving issues as they arise. Ensure release of changes, fixes and enhancements to a high standard and on Schedule. Ensure the stability and availability of platform resources.
Collaboration
Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders, including SL and UK-based management team members, SL-based teams and other operational and support services team members. Build and sustain good relationships between the UK and the SL-based team, including the management. Work in a collaborative manner in a large-scale, fast-paced environment within a multifunctional technical team. Work closely with other IT teams to resolve cross-system issues and contribute to system-wide improvements. Be involved in open discussion, communicate ideas, and promote inclusion and diversity. Invite collaboration. Collaboration allows the development of ideas.
Coaching and Mentoring
Mentor junior engineers on the team based on Next Values and Practices. Be available to more junior members to provide guidance and advice on career progression and skill building.. Coach teams to adopt frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), promoting the Agile mindset. Proactively improve existing skills and those of the team, taking on new technical skills as appropriate.
Contributions
Contributing to the overall goals for the Domain in various projects, spaces, and groups. Provide timely updates, effective escalation, and maintain a high degree of accountability. Collaborating effectively with team members, managers, and other teams. Actively participating in meetings, such as daily sprint planning, refinement sessions, and daily stand-ups, to provide work updates and discuss challenges.

Criteria
Essential Criteria
Demonstrated ability to manage team workload, priorities tasks, and ensure timely delivery on commitments. Experience with coaching, mentoring, and developing team members Familiarity with core infrastructure technologies, including operating systems (Windows/Linux), networking, and automation/scripting concepts (e.g., Infrastructure-as-Code, PowerShell, Bash). Knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring/alerting systems sufficient for guiding a technical team. Proven ability to oversee technical tasks, ensure adherence to standards, and drive resolution of technical issues. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Criteria
Experience working in a large or multinational organization. Applied knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban. Experience with Azure DevOps or similar platforms for managing work items, pipelines, and source control Experience with ServiceNow (ITOM or ITSM) or other enterprise IT service management tools, ideally CSA qualified.
