**Job Title:** Lead Claims Specialist **Location:** Syracuse, NY **Job Type:** Contract to hire **Pay Rate:** $42 - $45 per on w2. Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced **Lead Claims Specialist** to manage complex and high-exposure claims. This role involves investigating claims, determining benefits, managing litigation, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of workers' compensation processes, and the ability to negotiate settlements effectively. **Key Responsibilities:** + Analyze and process complex workers' compensation claims to determine exposure and benefits due. + Develop and execute action plans to resolve claims efficiently and appropriately. + Negotiate settlements within designated authority levels. + Calculate and assign reserves; monitor reserve adequacy throughout the claim lifecycle. + Approve and process timely claim payments and adjustments. + Prepare and submit state filings within statutory deadlines. + Manage litigation processes and coordinate with legal vendors. + Utilize cost containment strategies and vendor partnerships to reduce claim costs. + Handle claim recoveries including subrogation, Second Injury Fund, and Medicare offsets. + Report claims to excess carriers and respond to their inquiries. + Maintain professional communication with claimants and clients. + Ensure accurate documentation and coding of claim files. + Refer complex cases to supervisors or management as needed. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree preferred. + Minimum 3 years of claims management experience or equivalent. + Valid **New York Adjuster's License** is required. + Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. + Proficiency in claims systems and documentation practices. **Pay Details:** $45.00 to $47.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
