Ingredion is seeking a Payroll Team Lead to enhance our payroll team. The Payroll Team provides support to the America’s based businesses in the areas of payroll processing & controls, payroll related reporting, Audit Support and Payroll analytics. This vital role will report directly to the payroll supervisor but will provide indirect leadership to and support of payroll administrators reporting also to the Payroll Supervisor, with future career advancement opportunities available.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and provide backup coverage for the payroll processing for a weekly, biweekly, and monthly union and non-union payrolls to ensure the accuracy of the withholdings and deductions associated with taxes, benefits, garnishments, support orders, and items defined in the union collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)Manage all aspects of payroll activities as assigned and deadlines including delegation of work to team as neededConfirm data changes via automated and non-automated processes for employee changes such as new hires, terminations, and pay changesEnsure the team meets expectations in terms of consistency, accuracy, and timely completion of daily tasksSupport the preparation of annual W2 and W2C tax filings, respond to any other tax related inquiries from federal, state, and local authoritiesValidate and monitor all payroll & Benefit payments to vendorsResolve internal customer & Vendor inquiries & Act as a back up to the supervisor for escalationsSupport audits and work with Supervisor and Manager on remediations as requiredProvide training to new employees and system users on policies & Ensure quality of training knowledge is acquired – Train as needed to address knowledge gapsAssist with supporting Total Rewards & Benefit changes that impact payrollAnalyzes payrolls for reasonableness before payment; challenge unexpected results to ensure accuracyEnsure that Month-end and year-end close activitiesAnalyze payroll process data to identify trends and team performance measures and communicate to leadership potential improvements as necessaryEnforce and maintain SOX & RACM compliance for policies and proceduresContinually implement enhancements to further improve and streamline processes, including proper testing and communication to managementSupport Supervisor with daily, weekly and monthly activity trackingCollaborate with Key Business Partners and report on monthly performanceOther Duties as assignedRequirements:
University degree in Accounting or related field5+ years payroll experience with 1 year leading workAdvanced knowledge of policies and procedures of payrollProven skill in promoting harmonious working relationships in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of work performance, follow through on assignments, and anticipate, identify, and analyze problems and resolve or recommend course of action for resolution as appropriate.Proven ability to independently analyze complex problems, research complex issues, draw appropriate conclusions, and develop and implement innovative solutionsHighly organized individual with a high degree of attention to detailsExcellent communication, customer service and organizational skillsStrong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel (advanced)Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade and facilitate discussions with all levels of managementPlanning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate the workload around multiple assignmentsContinuous improvement attitude to seek out and implement best practicesPreferred Qualifications:
