Security Analyst - Data Protection and Email Security Specialist
Job Description:
As a Security Analyst specializing in Data Protection and web, email and endpoint Security, you will play a crucial role in providing security services for our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include the administration, monitoring, and optimization of both Proofpoint security solutions and Microsoft Purview to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our clients' data.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer/migrate and configure Proofpoint security solutions and Microsoft Purview for clients, including data loss prevention (DLP), email filtering, threat intelligence, and endpoint protection features. Monitor and respond to alerts generated by both Proofpoint and Microsoft Purview systems on behalf of clients, investigating potential threats and taking appropriate action. Collaborate with clients' IT Operations, Network Operations, Infrastructure teams, Legal, and Risk Management to implement best practices for data protection and web, email and endpoint security. Conduct regular assessments of configurations and policies in both Proofpoint and Microsoft Purview to ensure optimal performance and compliance with security standards for clients. Provide training and support to clients' end-users on data protection and web, email and endpoint security awareness and best practices. Assist in the development and execution of incident response plans related to data breaches and email threats for clients. Stay updated on the latest trends, threats, and features related to Proofpoint and Microsoft Purview to continuously improve the security posture of clients.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
Strong understanding of data protection and web, email and endpoint security concepts, particularly related to Proofpoint and Microsoft Purview. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, Engineering, or a related field. 4-6 years of experience in supporting Data Security Technology and web, email and endpoint security, with a focus on Microsoft Purview and Proofpoint administration for clients. Experience with threat detection, incident response, and security monitoring tools. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: SC-400, Proofpoint Certified Security Specialist (PCSS), CompTIA Security+, or similar are preferred. Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements related to data protection and privacy.
