Description We are looking for a meticulous Junior Tax Accountant to join our team in Sherman Oaks, California. In this role, you will provide comprehensive tax services, including preparation, research, and compliance support for a variety of clients. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow your expertise in public accounting and tax preparation. Responsibilities: • Develop a thorough understanding of the firm's policies, procedures, and standards. • Stay current with continuing education requirements and work toward obtaining relevant designations. • Gain proficiency in tax preparation software, including Axcess Tax, Document, Workstream, and other related tools. • Prepare and review individual, corporate, trust, partnership, and exempt organization tax returns. • Assist clients with accounting and bookkeeping services as needed. • Respond to government correspondence on behalf of clients, ensuring timely and accurate communication. • Prepare payroll tax returns, property tax statements, and estimated tax vouchers as required. • Conduct tax research to address client inquiries and support supervisors and partners. • Develop year-end tax projections for both corporate and individual clients. • Collaborate with partners and team members to meet deadlines and resolve questions effectively. Requirements • Exposure in preparing individual, corporate tax returns, partnership and trust tax return preparation. • Familiarity with CCH ProSystem and other tax-related software. • Ability to conduct thorough tax research and provide accurate recommendations. • Knowledge of payroll and property tax compliance. • Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Commitment to ongoing education and obtaining relevant certifications. • Prior experience in public accounting is highly preferred.
