Your mission, roles and responsibilitiesThe SSC Tax Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant tax reporting and management across various tax domains, including Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), and Withholding Tax (WHT). This role supports the Shared Services Center (SSC) by maintaining adherence to local and international tax regulations, coordinating tax audits, and providing expert tax advisory services to internal stakeholders.
The main missions of the role are to:
1. Corporate Income Tax (CIT):
• Prepare and submit Corporate Income Tax filings in accordance with applicable local tax laws.
• Perform annual tax adjustments based on legislative updates.
• Review and validate tax credits and applicable tax reductions.
• Manage tax loss carry forward processes to ensure proper utilization and compliance.
2. Value Added Tax (VAT):
• Ensure the accuracy of VAT rates applied, in compliance with local tax regulations.
• Conduct monthly reviews of VAT transactions recorded in SAP.
• Reconcile VAT balances between the accounting system and VAT reports.
• Classify input VAT as deductible or non-deductible in accordance with tax laws.
3. Withholding Tax (WHT):
• Administer all withholding tax obligations in compliance with local regulations.
• Prepare and issue withholding tax certificates to customers in a timely manner.
4. International Tax Coordination:
• Manage and maintain Transfer Pricing (TP) contracts, ensuring timely updates and compliance with international tax standards.
5. General Tax Compliance and Advisory:
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required tax reports.
• Submit monthly tax reports via Metis and prepare tax forecasts as required.
• Support tax audits conducted by relevant tax authorities and proactively identify and mitigate tax risks.
• Stay current with changes in tax legislation and provide internal tax training as necessary.
• Conduct annual tax health checks for all relevant entities.
• Act as a subject matter expert and advisor on tax-related matters to internal departments.
• Take the leadership to uphold the commitment to CoE, CoM and other internal compliance policy in the responsible team and relevant business partners to ensure that it is distributed to all employees and that each employee adheres to it.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have/be:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, TA (Tax Agent), or Chartered Tax Adviser are highly desirable.
Experience:
• Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in tax compliance, preferably within a shared services environment, multinational corporation, or Big Four accounting firm.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Corporate Income Tax (CIT) preparation and reporting.
• Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance and reconciliation.
• Withholding Tax (WHT) management and certificate issuance.
• Transfer Pricing (TP) documentation and contract management.
• Experience supporting tax audits and managing tax risk assessments.
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems for tax reporting and reconciliation.
• Proficiency in using tax reporting tools such as Metis or equivalent.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of Thai tax laws and regulations.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Good - Fluent in English is required.
