Tax Specialist

The Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting the company's tax compliance and reporting obligations in Mexico, with a primary focus on indirect taxes (VAT, excise taxes, etc.) at the local, federal, and international levels. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Mexican tax law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. A working knowledge of direct taxes is also required.
+ **Indirect Tax Compliance:**
+ Prepare and file all required Mexican indirect tax returns (e.g., VAT) accurately and timely, including monthly, quarterly, and annual filings.
+ Reconcile VAT accounts and ensure accurate reporting of input and output VAT.
+ Monitor changes in Mexican indirect tax laws and regulations and assess the impact on the company.
+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VAT rules related to cross-border transactions, including imports, exports, and services.
+ Assist with indirect tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
+ Ensure compliance with e-invoicing requirements (CFDI) and other digital tax regulations.
+ Tax Cash Back Claims Process (Support Documentation and Filings)
+ **Direct Tax Support:**
+ Assist with the preparation of the annual income tax return and related schedules.
+ Support the calculation of estimated income tax payments.
+ Maintain a working knowledge of Mexican income tax law.
+ **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ **Experience:**
+ 3 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on Mexican indirect taxes.
+ Experience with Mexican tax compliance software and e-invoicing systems.
+ **Skills:**
+ Strong understanding of Mexican VAT law and regulations.
+ Working knowledge of Mexican income tax law.
+ Experience with cross-border transactions and international tax principles.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
+ **Language:** Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is required.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master's degree in Taxation or a related field.
+ Experience with [Specific ERP System, e.g., SAP, Oracle].
+ Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
