Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Tax Preparer specializing in estate and trust taxation to join our team. This role involves preparing federal and state fiduciary income tax returns, estate tax returns, and related forms. We offer a hybrid work model with flexibility post-training, allowing you to balance professional demands with personal life. ResponsibilitiesPrepare federal and state fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041), federal estate tax returns (Form 706), federal and state tax returns (Form 709), and related forms and schedules.Assist with estate and trust administration, including gathering financial data, tracking distributions, and finalizing deceased individuals’ tax affairs.Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate tax planning advice to clients.Collaborate with attorneys, trustees, executors, and beneficiaries to collect necessary information and resolve outstanding issues.Maintain accurate records, monitor filing deadlines, and manage workflow to ensure timely completion of all assignments.Stay current on tax law changes and industry trends through continuing education and professional development.Communicate effectively with clients regarding documentation needs, filing status, and tax planning opportunities.Support developing and implementing client-specific tax strategies, including gifting, charitable contributions, and fiduciary distributions.Ensure all work meets quality standards and complies with relevant regulations and internal procedures.Essential Skills3-5+ years of public accounting tax experience.Experience working with high net worth individuals.Proficiency with Forms 1041, 706, and 709.Experience with tax software and platforms such as CCH Axcess and Thomson Reuters.Strong knowledge of fiduciary accounting, estate and trust administration, and applicable tax laws.Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective client and team interactions.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.CPA or Enrolled Agent designation preferred but not required.Bilingual abilities, particularly Spanish, are a bonus.Proactive and client-focused with strong problem-solving skills.Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining current estate and trust taxation knowledge.Work Environment

This role is based in a collaborative and dynamic environment located on North Tatum Boulevard, Phoenix, Arizona. While initially on-site, the position offers hybrid flexibility following training. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
