Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a long-term contract basis in New York, New York. In this role, you will work closely with the firm's owner to handle a variety of tax preparation tasks, including individual and corporate tax returns, as well as providing essential client support. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is meticulous and confident in managing tax returns from start to finish. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns with precision and accuracy. • Generate and process tax forms such as 1099s and W-2s for clients. • Collaborate closely with clients to address inquiries and provide expert tax-related guidance. • Leverage Lacerte tax software to streamline tax preparation processes. • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to manage and analyze financial data. • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and deadlines. • Assist in maintaining organized and accurate records for all client tax filings. • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and recommend appropriate adjustments to client filings. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation, including individual and corporate returns. • Proficiency in using Lacerte tax software for efficient tax processing. • Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis. • Demonstrated ability to handle tax returns from start to finish independently. • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
