**Job Description:**
Parsons is looking for a talented **Tax Manager** to join our team! In this role you will get to Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including the preparation and filing of sales tax, gross receipt taxes, property taxes, and miscellaneous tax returns and reports and manage Tax Specialists.
**What You'll Be Doing:**
+ Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including the preparation and filing of sales tax, gross receipt taxes, property taxes, and miscellaneous tax returns and reports.
+ Supervise a team of Tax Specialists, as well as the coordination of tax-related data gathering activities of other Parsons staff.
+ Support internal and external tax audits and provide support for these audits.
+ Ensure the accurate preparation of all Parsons , sales, gross receipts, and property tax returns/reports, and their timely filing with tax authorities.
+ Ensure that effective tax software is in place to prepare the returns
+ Simplifying business processes and systems that result in cost-saving opportunities
+ Analyze book-to-tax differences that support the tax returns
+ Request extensions for filing returns, reports, etc.
+ Estimate tax declarations and payments
+ Prepare Parsons’ tax estimates for preparation on yearly budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts
+ Presentation of Parsons’ income tax expense in the Company’s financial statements
+ Coordinate all tax audits and ensure proper documentation of tax return positions consistent with tax laws including documentation of tax attributes, accounting methods, tax shelter disclosure, transfer pricing, and the Company’s tax return positions.
+ Monitor developments in applicable areas of the tax law to determine the impact on the Company’s tax return positions.
+ Documenting tax positions to defend them upon audit
+ Manage planning, research, and analysis performed by the compliance staff for Federal tax return positions
+ Coordinate and oversee the gathering of tax information and financial data required for preparation of the tax return including supporting forms, elections, statements, and disclosures.
+ Develop and implement practices and procedures which improve efficiency in the collection of data and the preparation of returns.
+ Manage accounting for income taxes including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of income tax expense in the Company’s financial records.
+ Reconciliation of income tax expense and income taxes payable accounts.
+ Evaluation of proposed audit adjustments• and maintenance of analysis of current/deferred taxes.
+ Documentation of tax policies and procedures to ensure SOX compliance
+ Provide research and documentation of the Company’s tax positions.
+ Provides tax analysis of the implications for proposed transactions
+ Manage the tax software, including developing and implementing practices and procedures for efficient collection of data and preparation of return, as well as the development of new processes to meet changing tax law requirements.
+ Apply technology and system solutions to tax processes and information needs. Ensures the downloaded book financial information and tax work-papers are maintained so that they can be accessed in the most efficient manner.
+ Manages the day-to-day conduct of all reviews/audits of the tax accounting positions, and tax returns/reports.
+ Conduct and manage examinations by state, and foreign tax auditors and serve as liaison with the Company’s internal and external auditors.
+ Manage all tax related notices and responses.
+ Negotiate with tax authorities to reduce tax, penalty, and interest assessments to minimize the Company’s liabilities.
+ Manage changes to tax processes and procedures to improve productivity in the Compliance Section and in services to Business Units.
+ Ensure management is informed of changes in tax laws, regulations, and administrative decisions having implications on the corporation.
+ Establish and maintains a rapport with corporate and Business Unit accounting, payroll, finance, and contracts organizations.
+ Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Economics , and typically 10+ years of related and progressive experience, including at least 3+ years’ managerial experience.
+ Preparation of gross receipts, sales tax, and property tax returns
+ Ability to perform in a leadership capacity and demonstrated orientation to profitability.
+ Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations (both domestic and foreign), as well as corporate policies and procedures.
+ Ability to effectively present information to top management and government agencies.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office software
+ Deltek CostPoint working knowledge
+ Excellent communication skills
+ US Person

Salary Range: $108,700.00 - $190,200.00
