Tax Manager - Public
Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Lewiston, Maine. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in public accounting who excels at managing tax engagements and fostering client relationships. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing complex tax compliance tasks and guiding a team of tax professionals. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review a variety of complex tax returns, ensuring compliance with current regulations. • Lead and manage tax engagements, coordinating tasks and supervising team members effectively. • Conduct in-depth research to develop and implement strategic tax solutions. • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and timely communication. • Analyze financial data and resolve tax-related issues with a problem-solving approach. • Utilize advanced tax software and financial planning tools to streamline processes and enhance accuracy. • Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to offer informed guidance and compliance support. • Mentor and develop tax staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment. • Assist with entity formation and related tax implications. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of tax strategies within broader financial planning. Requirements • Certification in public accounting is required. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree in Taxation is preferred. • Proven experience in public accounting with a focus on tax management. • Proficiency in using tax software such as CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax. • Strong knowledge of corporate tax returns and annual income tax provisions. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client management. • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and develop solutions. • Solid understanding of entity formation and associated tax considerations.
