Tax Manager

The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing all tax-related activities for the hotel, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. This role involves managing the preparation and submission of tax filings, advising on tax planning strategies, monitoring changes in tax legislation, and collaborating with external tax consultants and auditors. The Tax Manager will also support the Finance team in optimizing tax liabilities while upholding the highest standards of financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of all applicable taxes, including but not limited to corporate income tax, VAT, sales tax, property tax, payroll tax, tourism levies, and any industry-specific taxes.

Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the hospitality industry and provide proactive guidance on implications and necessary adjustments.

Maintain and manage tax records, filings, and supporting documentation in compliance with regulatory and internal audit requirements.

Collaborate with external auditors, tax consultants, and government agencies during audits, reviews, and inspections.

Advise management on tax planning opportunities, risks, and strategies to optimize the hotel's financial position.

Coordinate with operational departments (such as Rooms, FB, and Sales Marketing) to ensure proper tax application and reporting for services, promotions, and contracts.

Review hotel contracts and agreements to assess tax implications and compliance.

Manage monthly and annual tax provisions and tax-related general ledger accounts.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements by providing tax estimates, disclosures, and reconciliations.

Lead or support ad-hoc financial projects related to tax optimization, cost control, or business expansion.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in tax management, preferably within the hospitality, tourism, or service industries.

Strong knowledge of local and international tax regulations applicable to the hotel sector.

Experience in handling tax audits and dealing with tax authorities.

Proficiency in financial management systems and accounting software.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

High level of integrity and attention to detail.
