About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join our client’s boutique law firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This position offers a unique opportunity to build expertise in property tax litigation and appeals, representing clients before administrative agencies and in Pennsylvania courts. The role combines hands-on litigation work, extensive client interaction, and mentorship from experienced attorneys in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Represent clients in property tax litigation and appeals before administrative agencies and trial courts in Pennsylvania
+ Conduct detailed legal research and draft litigation documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and petitions
+ Prepare and respond to discovery requests in compliance with legal standards and procedural rules
+ Manage a comprehensive litigation caseload, meeting deadlines while working independently and as part of a team
+ Appear at administrative hearings, trial court conferences, oral arguments, and evidentiary hearings statewide
+ Handle court filings at the federal, state, and local levels, with a primary focus on Pennsylvania jurisdictions
+ Travel extensively across Pennsylvania’s 67 counties for hearings, conferences, and client meetings
+ Participate in trial preparation, including reviewing evidence, coordinating witnesses, and organizing exhibits
+ Attend firm-provided training, industry events, and professional development programs to deepen expertise in property tax law
Requirements
Qualifications
+ Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
+ Active Pennsylvania Bar admission in good standing
+ 1–5+ years of litigation experience, ideally within a law firm setting
+ Familiarity with property tax law, administrative hearings, or related litigation preferred but not required
+ Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
+ Proven ability to manage multiple matters effectively while meeting deadlines
+ Willingness to travel extensively throughout Pennsylvania for court appearances and hearings
+ Proficiency in federal, state, and local court filing procedures
Compensation & Benefits
+ Base salary: $115,000 – $140,000, commensurate with experience
