As a Tax Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing income and withholding tax compliance, tax accounting, and reporting across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll support audits, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to process improvements while ensuring accurate and timely tax filing.
This position is based in Houston, Texas, and follows a hybrid work model, requiring two days per week onsite at the office.
Main responsibilities:
Responsible for Income tax administration, payments and notices.
Income tax accounting - Journal entries validation, reconciliation and clearings of tax accounts, etc.
Withholding taxes for US, Canada, and Puerto Rico - Analysis, Collections and reports.
Prepare some IRS basic forms such us forms 8802, and others.
Prepare reports from SAP and HFM as needed.
Work on ad-hoc tax projects as needed.
Prepare business tax returns such as gross receipt tax.
Supporting and participating in development and optimizing tax process.
Communicate effectively across the enterprise functions - legal, finance, purchasing, master data, A/P, etc.
Supporting internal and external audits.
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
5+ year of experience in taxation.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting principles.
Solid understanding of income and withholding tax compliance.
Hands-on experience with SAP and HFM systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
Experience with QlikView is a plus.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
