Job Summary
Implement tax policy.
Advise on local tax compliance matters.
Handle tax filing submissions and prepare reports/updates to the country Head of Finance on tax compliance matters.
Overall responsibility for on-going Tax Audits as well as driving process changes to prevent and/or limit tax audits for the Company.
General Responsibilities
Support the implementation of the tax policy and controls to ensure effective governance over all taxation matters
Prepare basic information to assist discussions on tax disputes and coordinate scheduling of such discussions with tax officers and advisers
Support Finance Controllership Team in preparation of tax computations, coordinate filing of tax returns, process tax payments, manage withholding tax, etc. to manage local tax compliance. Maintain tax submission documentations and tax schedules.
Administrative support during tax audits, including preparation of basic tax information and schedules, coordinate meetings, etc.
Leads the activities related to any local tax audit defense, including dealing with BIR Auditors as well as third party tax consultants.
Gather and compile information needed for the preparation of reports and updates to the Management. Support Finance Controller in ensuring all local tax provisions are sufficient and fully accounted for.
Be the contact by internal stakeholders on basic queries and requests related to tax matters.
Respond to basic queries and requests from tax authorities/auditors/external consultants in relation to regulatory requirements/tax audits/tax advisory engagements. Support superior in managing tax ad hoc reporting needs.
Functional skills and knowledge
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business and industry
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and application of taxation principles and local tax regulations
Actual hand-on experience on Finance and Accounting functions directly related to local tax regulations
Proven hands-on experience in SAP accounting applications is an advantage • Demonstrate good research and analytical skills
Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Demonstrate fluency in local language and ideally in English, both written and spoken
Qualifications
Preferably Certified Public Accountant At least five years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a corporate tax compliance or audit firm dealing in tax matters
